Wow. The visualisation tool really helps to get the point across. But I think that's besides the point. The point was also how we ought to be using data that's available and currently "under-mined" -- at least that's how I saw it. Thanks for highlighting this video.
Yeah I agree with you Ivan. I think that there is a lot of potential with "public data" out there. The problem is that once a form of analysis if preformed on that data, we think tht it's been sufficiently mined. Hans Rosling's Gapminder software really does help us visualize alternative persectives to existing datasets.
On a sidenote, it's interesting to find out that the Gapminder software team has been bought out by Google. Read more about it here: http://www.gapminder.org/
